Description
The Premium AVS C5 Car Alarm
The premium AVS C5 car alarm communicates with your vehicle’s CAN-Bus platform for seamless integration into the factory system. With intrusion detection from an ultrasonic sensor, the cabin is well protected. Plus, the AVS C5 car alarm includes a digital tilt sensor to protect your wheels and detect if the vehicle is being towed – a common method used by thieves.
The AVS C5 also includes a digital battery back-up siren, making it even harder for a thief to disable the alarm if it is triggered. Designed to work with your vehicle’s original factory remote, the AVS C5 can also control selected factory features such as automatic window roll-up (vehicle dependent).
Factory Remote Operation
Control the alarm with your factory remote
Simply exit your vehicle and lock it as usual – the alarm will automatically arm using your factory remote. Unlocking the vehicle or releasing the boot (where available) will also operate as normal, with the alarm disarming automatically.
Optional AVS Rolling-Code Remote Controls
The AVS C5 is designed to operate using your vehicle’s original factory remote, so no additional remote is required for everyday use.
If you would like dedicated AVS rolling-code remote controls, they are available as an optional upgrade for $190 per pair (two remotes). Please contact us to confirm compatibility with your vehicle.
Intrusion Alerts
Digital Tilt Sensor
The AVS C5 includes a digital tilt sensor that automatically memorises the angle at which your vehicle is parked when the alarm is armed. If the vehicle is tilted by as little as one degree in any direction, the alarm will trigger.
Unlike standard shock sensors, the digital tilt sensor also helps protect your wheels and can detect if the vehicle is being towed. AVS is the only car security brand to include this feature as standard on its premium alarm range.
Ultrasonic Sensor
The ultrasonic sensor detects movement or changes in air pressure inside the cabin, providing superior interior protection. It also performs exceptionally well in larger vehicles and vehicles with frameless windows, such as many Subaru models.
Door, Bonnet and Boot Protection
A professional alarm installation includes protection for the doors, bonnet and boot. If any of these are opened while the alarm is armed, the alarm will immediately trigger.
On CAN-Bus-equipped vehicles, the doors and boot generally utilise the vehicle’s original factory sensors. We also recommend installing a bonnet trigger if the vehicle is not already equipped with one.
Digital Battery Back-up Siren
The self-powered battery back-up siren communicates independently with the alarm system, allowing it to remain operational even if the vehicle’s main battery is disconnected. The siren will sound for up to 30 seconds whenever an intrusion is detected.
