1. Mongoose Car Alarms
a. M60B: A 4-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. It features two immobilizers, black wiring, and a built-in turbo timer. It can also interface with an external turbo timer. Installed price from $418.
b. M60G: A 5-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. This model includes two immobilizers, black wiring, a glass break sensor, and a backup siren. It has a built-in turbo timer and can also work with an external one. Installed price from $488.
c. M80G II: A 2-in-1, 5-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. It offers three immobilizers, black wiring, a glass break sensor, and a backup siren. This alarm can be controlled by its remotes or by the car’s key remote (MAP mode, an optional feature). Installed price from $558.
d. M20: A 24V car alarm specifically for 24-volt vehicles. It features a single immobilizer. Installed price from $318.
2. AVS Car Alarms
a. AVS A4: A 4-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. It comes with two immobilizers, black wiring, and a backup siren. Features include a Courier mode for courier vehicles and a MAP function (optional) to control the alarm with the car’s key remote. It also has an interface for a car turbo timer. b. AVS A5: A 5-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. It has two immobilizers, black wiring, a glass break sensor, and a backup siren. e. AVS C4: This alarm works with the CAN-bus system of most European, American, and some newer Japanese cars. It is normally controlled by the car’s key remote, but two additional remotes can be added for an extra $110 NZD. It also features two ultrasonic sensors. Installed price from $488.
f. AVS S5: A 5-star NZ insurance-approved car alarm. It features three immobilizers, black wiring, a tilt sensor to protect against towing, and a backup siren. 3. Soundtech Car Alarms
a. Soundtech VS-968: A basic car alarm with a single immobilizer. It features a highly effective shock sensor and door protection. Installed price from $258.
b. Soundtech IK7: A basic car alarm with a single immobilizer. Its special function is remote sensing for door lock/unlock—it automatically locks all doors/arms the alarm when you walk away from the car, and unlocks/disarms it when you approach. Installed price from $318.
c. Soundtech New DC-5: Known as a “remote engine start car alarm.” It can start your car with its remote, but it can only be installed on vehicles without their own security system, typically older models. Installed price from $318.
d. Soundtech 3000H: A 24V car alarm with a single immobilizer, specifically for 24-volt trucks. It has a shock sensor and door protection. Installed price from $298.
e. Soundtech (PLC) Pager Alarm: This alarm’s remote is specially designed with a small LCD screen. The remote will beep and show a hammer striking or a door opening when the alarm is triggered within a range of 150-200 meters. Installed price from $288.
